Clashing empires, forbidden romance, and a long-forgotten queen destined to save her people—bestselling author Tahereh Mafi’s first in an epic, romantic trilogy inspired by Persian mythology. To all the world, Alizeh is a disposable servant, not the long-lost heir to an ancient Jinn kingdom forced to hide in plain sight. The crown prince, Kamran, has heard the prophecies foretelling the death of his king. But he could never have imagined that the servant girl with the strange eyes, the girl he can’t put out of his mind, would one day soon uproot his kingdom—and the world. Perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo, Tomi Adeyemi, and Sabaa Tahir, this is the explosive first book in a new fantasy trilogy from the New York Times bestselling and National Book Award-nominated author Tahereh Mafi. This Woven Kingdom (This Woven Kingdom, #1) by Tahereh Mafi – eBook Details So disappointing. This book has everything I love about YA fantasy, but not a bit of it worked. I’m so frustrated with at this point that I feel like banging my head (as compared to my phone) against a wall. This could have been so good, but it just wasn't. Overall, I’m interested in seeing where this trilogy will go and whether Alizeh and Kamran’s relationship will survive the journey. The ending of this first book has provided a nice setup for the series to show us what is happening. I won't hold a grudge with this first book. I would definitely be looking for next book in the series, specially that it nods to more story telling and the cliffhanger that happened at the end. This book was what I needed. No honestly after reading the first book I thought this one would be disappointing too but guys this book was ᴇᴠᴇʀʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ( ͡❛ ₃ ͡❛).

Oh. Wait. Where was I? What was I saying? Are you confused? Me too, because another aspect of the writing style I could not stand was the use of interruptions or dashes at the end of a paragraph. Once or twice, okay, I'll accept it. But if you use it consistently, then you have issues with wrapping up sentences and actually introducing tension effectively in your writing without resorting to cheap devices. It confuses the reader and makes the writing feel lost and disjointed. The amount of times that it happened was astonishing, and was a clear sign of poor writing. As for the plot, Well tbh there's not much happening in the span of time, only just at the end of the book, and since this book is inspired by Shahnameh I was so hyped to get another book(hopefully a better inspiration of this book) from the author i previously enjoyed her works. I do think it could have been elaborated better than this. Also thinking about it now, this book had hints of Aladdin and Cinderella vibes to it.alizeh’s last chapter actually tore my heart out of my chest and stomped on it til that mf was unidentifiable and my gosh i can’t wait for tahereh mafi to do it again Alizeh is a very interesting character. I want to see her character development. I mean she could be better. Sometimes she can be a badass but there isn't so much I could say about her. I then get up, make my way toward the microphone, and out of my teensy tiny I-couldn’t-care-less clutch, I pull out my prepared acceptance speech* I found the romance to be a little ridiculous. It is definitely filed under "instalove" and I just didn't feel the connection between them at all. I adore romance so am swayed easily but the spark just wasn't there for me.

The highly anticipated third novel in the This Woven Kingdom series, full of explosive magic, searing romance, and heartbreaking betrayal, from the award-winning and bestselling author of the Shatter Me series. Perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo, Sabaa Tahir, and Tomi Adeyemi.Cyrus is...well interesting. I think I'm going to fall for him. Although I love kamran I want Cyrus to be the end game. He gives more enemies to lovers. Alizeh has a rare combination of vulnerability and resilience. She has overcome adversity and learned to navigate a world in which she must conceal her true self. Throughout the series, she struggles with her emotions, particularly her growing feelings for Kamran, the crown prince of Ardunia. Her internal conflict between duty and desire adds depth. Kamran First of all, I want to admit that my expectations were high. I am a little disappointed. The story is more focused on politics than romance. I would love it when there was more romance but the politics were still ok.
